Atletico Madrid is hoping to overcome a domestic setback by beating Group D rival Marseille in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Atletico opened its first European Cup campaign in 11 years with a 3-0 win at PSV Eindhoven on Sept. 16 – including two goals from striker Sergio Aguero – and followed that with two straight Spanish league victories.
However, it lost to Sevilla 1-0 Sunday after injuries and fatigue caught up with coach Javier Aguirre’s young team.
